According to political pundits, the CM’s messsage to Solanki’s son was enough indication that the political legacy of Solanki would be inherited by Irfaan and the party would also probably back him. The CM, according to sources, asked Irfaan not to close the number of the mobile which his father was using as the same would enable him to talk to Irfaan whenever he desired to do so.
To add to it, the CM also invited Irfaan to the State capital for further discussion . He also asked Irfaan to hand over the list of development work initiated by Haji Mushtaque Solanki to him so that no work suffered after the demise of the MLA.
It is pertinent to mention that following the death of Haji Mushtaque Solanki, discussions had started as to who would be the political successor of Solanki.
The two names floated were those of Solanki’s son Irfaan and his brother Iqbal.
However, the chief minister’s conversation with Solanki’s son has virtually brought speculations to a halt.
The CM visited the residence of party MLA late Mushtaque Solanki on Monday and consoled the bereaved family members. The chief minister, who landed in the city at around 12 noon, drove straight to the residence of the MLA. After spending over half-an-hour with the Solanki family, he flew back to the State capital. The chief minister assured the Solanki family of all cooperation and said the sad demise of Solanki had left a void in the Samajwadi Party which could never be filled. He also asked Solanki’s son Irfaan to hand over the list of the development work being carried out by Solanki to him so that the work was done on priority basis.
