Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday kickstarted the daylong road show in the metropolis at suburban Mulund by urging the voters to cast their mandate for the assembly polls in Maharashtra on October 13.

Sonia appealed to the people in Marathi "Aghadi La Mat Diya (vote for Cong-NCP-RPI alliance) in order to create a better future for India.
She also intermingled with the crowd and waved at them.
Sonia was accompanied among others by AICC general secretary Margaret Alva, MRCC chief Gurudas Kamat and RPI leader Ramdas Athawale.
The Congress chief later left in a convoy amidst tight police security. Her brief public address was marked by heavy police bandobast.
