Sood cremated, Chouhan, Pachauri others condole
RETIRED DSP and father of Mayor Sunil Sood R D Sood was cremated on Tuesday at the Chhola crematorium in the presence of prominent citizens including Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachauri, BJP state general secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki, Education Minister Dr Narottam Mishra and others.
RETIRED DSP and father of Mayor Sunil Sood R D Sood was cremated on Tuesday at the Chhola crematorium in the presence of prominent citizens including Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachauri, BJP state general secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki, Education Minister Dr Narottam Mishra and others.
Sood’s funeral procession started at 10.30 a.m. from his residence at Koh-e-Fiza and went through the roads of old Bhopal to Chhola crematorium where his eldest son, Deepak Sood performed the last rites.
Speaking at a condolence meeting held at the crematorium, Pachauri said Sood was not only a sincere police officer but also a cultured and warm personality.
Sikh religious head Gyani Dilip Singh, MLA Ajay Singh, Arif Aqueel, Umashankar Gupta, former minister Tanwant Singh Keer, former MPs Kailash Sarang, Rameshwar Nikhra, Ashok Jain Bhaba, Congress spokesman Manak Agrawal, Rajkumar Patel, Govind Goyal, Deepchand Yadav and others were also present on the occasion.
CONDOLENCES: Condolences poured in from various quarters for late R D Sood. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed grief and prayed for peace of departed soul and strength to the family to bear the loss. Commerce and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur visited the Sood residence and offered floral tributes to late Sood.
He also prayed for peace to departed soul. Bhopal Municipal Corporation chairman, members of the mayor-in-council and other corporators also offered condolences and paid tributes to the departed soul. Leader of the BJP corporators’ group Ashok Pandey said late R D Sood was a very amicable personality and sincere officer.
State Congress chief Subhash Yadav and his colleagues in the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) also condoled the death of R D Sood.
