SP leader among 4 killed in Sultanpur clash

Four persons, including a ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) office-bearer and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) district president, were killed when two rival groups clashed allegedly over contract business rivalry in Sultanpur town on Saturday.

Three others including Sitakund police outpost in charge OP Singh were also grievously wounded in the attack.

Later, an irate mob damaged the vehicle of District Magistrate Veena, who had rushed to the spot following the bloody clash.

Faizabad division DIG Prashant Kumar said the two sides had a skirmish on Friday night at a function. The armed rivals again clashed over the issue near the court premises on Saturday morning.
