A complaint has been registered against the US administration in this regard.

A local Samajwadi Party leader has been asked by a Haridwar court to record his statement against George W Bush alleging that the US President "deliberately" took sniffer dogs to Raj Ghat during his visit to India.

A complaint has been registered against the US administration in this regard, official sources said.

In his complaint before city judicial magistrate Amit Sirohi on Saturday, district official Arun Bhadoria claimed that by taking the dogs to Mahatma Gandhi's memorial, the Bush administration brought disgrace on the Father of the Nation.

The judge has asked Bhadoria to record his statement against Bush on April 4.

Bhadoria said he had approached the court after his pleas to register a case against Bush were "ignored" by Haridwar SSP Abhinav Kumar.
