SP leader Jitender Bahadur passes away

Samajwadi Party leader Jitender Bahadur Singh today passed away at Sanjay Gandhi PGI Hospital in Lucknow following kidney failure. His body was taken to the party office in Lucknow, where chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and other senior leaders paid floral tributes.

Samajwadi Party leader Jitender Bahadur Singh today passed away at Sanjay Gandhi PGI Hospital in Lucknow following kidney failure.

Singh, 50, breathed his last this morning in the Hospital, where he was admitted for the last one week, party sources said.

The SP leader is survived by his wife and a daughter.

His body was taken to the party office in Lucknow, where chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and other senior leaders paid floral tributes.

Later in the afternoon, he was cremated at Bhairav Ghat here in presence of large number of party leaders and well-wishers.

Singh had lost the Kanpur's Arya Nagar seat to BJP leader Salil Vishnoi in the recent Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
