He advised the SP to first withdraw support to the UPA Government and then talk about the no-trust motion, as the SP was, in a way, part and parcel of the Union Government. He also expressed his doubts that the SP or the Left would actually bring the motion against the Manmohan Singh Government.

Talking to reporters at his Kalidas Marg residence here on Thursday, Singh urged the Left parties to clear their stand on Iran issue before discussing it in the House. He said it was practically not possible for any party to support the Union Government in the House and oppose it outside.

Accusing the Centre of not taking the Lower House into confidence before voting on the Iran issue, he said the UPA Government was under the pressure from the US and the decision on Iran was possibly because of that pressure.

The Union Government also did not take the Opposition parties into confidence before coming to any decision on Teheran as it involved country’s prestige, he regretted.

Refusing to comment on expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti and her ongoing ‘Janadesh Yatra’, Singh said she was no more in the BJP and as such he was not bothered about her comments or yatra. He said the SP was identified with criminalisation of politics, the BSP with corruption and the Congress with its misrule and as such people were now fully convinced that only the BJP could provide a clean and efficient government in the State.

Expressing concern over deteriorating relationship with Nepal and China, he said the Nepalis were now ihostile towards our country and it was a potential threat to the country’s security.

The BJP president refused to comment on Raj Babbar’s revolt against the SP general secretary Amar Singh saying that it was an internal issue of the SP.
