Speaker to meet Presiding Officers on Feb 4
In the wake of Supreme Court notice to him on the expulsion of MPs in the 'cash-for-query' scam, Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has convened a meeting of Presiding Officers of all state legislatures on February 4 to discuss the matter.
"I have called a meeting of Presiding Officers on February 4 to discuss this matter," Chatterjee told reporters after an all-party meeting which felt that he should not accept or respond to the notice or appear before the court.
As many as 10 MPs were expelled from Lok Sabha and onefrom Rajya Sabha during the Winter Session after they were caught on camera accepting cash.
