Spiritual leader calls for East-West bond

She was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “Religion and Modern Civilisation” at Mahtma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth on Saturday. The seminar was organised under the auspices of the Sociology department of MGKV.

She said that illiteracy was the main reason behind the problems of the society like poverty, differences, health and education. She added that it was the need of hour to create awareness among people through education. She said that religion and spirituality inspired people to spread quality of human values in society.

Presiding over the seminar MGKV V-C Prof SS Kushwaha also endorsed Sai Maa’s views. He added that poverty could be eradicated with the help of education and discipline.

He said several issues would be discussed in the proposed three-day congress on ‘Religion and Modern Civilisation’, which would be organized from November 4 to 6 here. Prof Kushwaha and Sai Maa jointly released a third issue of an international journal, ‘The Society’.

Organising secretary of seminar Dr Ravi Prakash Pandey, Mahamadleshwar Onkardas Shashtri, Swami Parmeshwara from USA and John from Australia were also present on the occasion.
