In a statement her, he said "Acts of violence against any place of worship is totally against what Hinduism preaches.They violate the age-old tradition of tolerance and peaceful co-existence that Hinduism stands for".

He urged the state governments to conduct an impartial inquiry into the attacks and appealed to people belonging to the respective communities not to get provoked and play into the hands of those out to create trouble.
