THE GIRLS’ team of St Francis School and St Joseph’s Co-Ed School will clash in the final for the prestigious trophy of the basketball tournament being organised under the HT PACE Fiesta at Tatya Tope Stadium.
In the first semifinal, a strong St Joseph’s Co-ed School scored a cakewalk win over St Mary’s School. The fabulous control on the ball and excellent passes by the St Joseph’s girls posed problems for the opponents in the entire match. However, the team also faced the problem of not converting the first-time shots into the basket.
Such was the struggle of St Mary’s School that the team even failed to open account in the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter the score was 12-00 in the favour of St Joseph’s team.
The story was same in rest of the match except that St Mary’s girls managed to score three points. St Joseph’s won the match 33-03. For the winning side Surbhi Jha and Nikita scored ten points each.
In the second semifinal, Maharishi Centre for Educational Excellence (MCEE) suffered defeat against St Francis. In the low-scoring match both teams failed to score points on a number of occasions. With the help of 11 points scored by Rose Mary, the team of St Francis defeated MCEE 12-06.
In the semifinals of the boys’ section, Kendriya Vidyalaya Bairagarh will take on International Public School and Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 would clash with the St Joseph’s Co-ed School.
Governor Dr Balram Jakhar will be the chief guest of the closing ceremony and prize distribution ceremony to be organised on Friday from 5 pm.
