SHO New Agra, Suresh Veer Singh has been transferred to Achnera police station and SHO Achnera, Baldhari Singh is to be new Incharge for New Agra Police station of Agra city. DIG Agra Aditya Mishra informed that a team has been constituted to work out the solution to the dispute between Satsanghis of Dayalbagh and villagers of nearby area. 'Three day time has been provided to the team to work out a solution which could retain peace' he added.
Inspector General of Agra Police, Vijay Kumar has stated that those found involved in Tuesday violence at Sikandarpur would be seriously dealt with and would be booked under National Security Act and Gangster Act. He claimed the situation to be under control and those responsible are being identified. No arrests were made till reports came. Situation is under control and force has been deployed to maintain peace.
Uneasy calm prevailed at Sikandarpur and nearby villages in Dayalbagh area under New Agra Police station of city. Satsangis from Dayalbagh and villagers of Sikandarpur clashed on Tuesday morning. Stone pelting was followed by firing exchange which left around forty injured. Even women came out with lathis in their hand as clash broke out. Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and force from various police station were rushed to the spot. Police had to use force to bring situation under control. There were many who were taken hostages and were released after police intervened.
District Magistrate Mritunjay Kumar Narayan and DIG Agra, Aditya Mishra reached the spot. It is noteworthy that there was clash on Sunday too and a water tanker was burnt down. Police could not notice the tension growing amongst Satsangis of Dayalbagh and villagers from village Lagarhi, Sikandarpur etc. in the area.
Police officials had declared to deploy police unit in the area after Sunday clash but it did not happen . Police authorities are non committal on the issue. IG Agra however informed that enquiry has been ordered for the same.
