Staying in touch

It was shocking to read the report Sleuths find Saudi link (March 11) and trying to link Saudi Arabia with the blasts in Varanasi merely because some calls were made to Saudi Arabia from the city the day before the blasts. I would like to remind you that there are more than 1.5 million Indians living in Saudi Arabia and it’s natural that their loved ones in India would keep in touch with them by using different means of communication, especially via telephone.

Khurana in a fix
the recent move by Madan Lal Khurana to join Uma Bharati’s rally does not augur well for his future in active politics (Khurana Quila, March 20). It is likely that the BJP will terminate his membership. Khurana should not have launched a tirade against his own party.

Sidelining the unwanted is the order of the day in Indian politics. Instead of facing shameful suspension for raising his voice against the party, Khurana should have resigned from the party and joined hands with firebrand Uma Bharati.

Against peace
I do not agree with Khushwant Singh in Why the disaffection? (March 18) that Indian Muslims are against George W. Bush because he ousted Saddam Hussein. Bush might not be Islam’s enemy but he has proved himself to be the enemy of world peace. Indian Muslims are not pro-Saddam but are pro-peace.

George Bush has made a grand gesture with the agreement to supply nuclear fuel to India. It must also welcome the Russian step to supply nuclear fuel to us. After all, both countries are only helping.
