Strange ways of Gaya Prasad
MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER Gaya Prasad appears to have devised his own style of functioning and dealing with files. Even the commissioner, or the DM's directives/advice do not seem to bother him.
MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER Gaya Prasad appears to have devised his own style of functioning and dealing with files.

Even the commissioner, or the DM's directives/advice do not seem to bother him.
Upset with his ways, DM Amrit Abhijat has sought his clarification in the case of one Issac Frank who had been running from pillar to post to get his premises converted into free hold from its present Nazul status.
Interestingly, five other portions on the same nazul plot No 27 Lukerganj have already been converted into free hold. But the sixth owner's fate is being made to hang in the balance apparently for no plausible reasons. The then MC Badal Chatterjee on February 13, 2004 had ordered for the file and discussed the issue with officer incharge Nazul RC Srivastava who took one year to place the file before the new MC Gaya Prasad on March 17, 2005 for according approval and sending it to the DM's office. The victim says since this date he has visited the MC's office at least fifty times but to no avail. On his part, the MC is yet to find time to dispose of the case after inspecting the site even when the DM asked him to do so. On September 5, 2005 the commissioner. Dr Lalit Varma also advised the MC to look into the matter.
After this the DM wrote to the MC to visit the site and send the file to him. But the DM's directive this time in his capacity as the administrator failed to move the MC. As a result the DM on February 16, 2006 once again advised the MC to inspect the site and send the concerned file to him. It is now to be seen as to how long MC Gaya Prasad takes to follow the directive issued to him by the DM/administrator. On being asked for his comment the MC said the file will soon be sent to the DM.
