They also raised significant issues of financial irregularities and locked teachers and other staff members in their offices for more than five hours. They shouted slogans against the director and teachers of the institutions and burnt the effigy of the directors.

Trouble started here on Friday when the mark sheets of students were distributed. On seeing that they had procured fewer marks than expected, students became agitated.

The irked students reached the office of the director and levelled serious charges against internal examiners.

They claimed that external examination had given them 75 per cent marks in different papers but internal examiners had ruined their careers by marking below 40 per cent.

Levelling charges of financial irregularities the students said the institution took Rs 60,000 per annum as tuition fee while other institutions took only Rs 45,000 per year.

They said there was no laboratory and institution had hired teachers who did not have degrees. They alleged the classes never ran on time and there was no library to study.

Meanwhile, secretary of the institute Gopal Chaturvedi said this year the internal examiners did not show a liberal attitude in giving marks to students which caused resentment.

He admitted earlier the institute was trying to adjust with students but with change in regulations of the university the answer sheets of the students in internal examination were sent to the university, therefore, the internal examination was marked strictly.
