Surprise inspection exposes CHCs

COMMUNITY HEALTH centres (CHCs) in Karchana and Kaundhiyara were found closed during the surprise inspection conducted by CMO Dr Shantimal Singhavi on Sunday.
The CMO arrived at Karchana CHC at about 12 noon and found the CHC closed and pharmacists and paramedical staff missing. However, the doctor was found in the CHC’s residential quarters but in the absence of staff, he expressed his inability to open the CHC.
The Kaundhiyara CHC was also lying closed. But when the news reached the doctors posted at the CHC that the CMO was conducting inspection, he rushed to the CHC and opened it before the CMO arrived. Dr Singhavi became angry to see the poor sanitary condition of the CHC and warned the staff to improve the condition within 24 hours.
The Jasra CHC was also found in a poor condition. The emergency was functioning and the staff was present, but due to insanitary condition, the patients were facing inconvenience.
