Susayraj, Mathew remanded to judicial custody

The esplanade court on Monday remanded Kannada actress Marrayya Monica Susayraj and her naval officer fiancee, to judicial custody till June 30.

Both Susayraj and Mathew were not produced in court. Their remand was done through video conferencing.

"The police are fearing that if Marrayya is produced in court, her advocate will advice to retract her confession," Susayraj's defence lawyer Nitin Pradhan said.

The actress and her fiancee were arrested for brutally murdering Neeraj Grover, creative head in Synergy Adlabs, a TV production house.

Grover was stabbed to death allegedly by Mathew inside Susayraj's apartment in suburban Malad on May 7 over a suspected "love triangle."

The duo later burnt the body in Manor at Thane district.
