Suspended MCD official commits suicide

Naresh Gupta was suspended on charges of misuse of office during the demolition drive in the capital.

A suspended executive engineer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in northwest Delhi, police said Monday.

Naresh Gupta, 42, was suspended on charges of misuse of office during the demolition drive in the capital. A vigilance inquiry had also been initiated against Gupta.

Police said the incident took place on Sunday evening when Gupta was alone in his house in Adarsh Nagar.
