A 23 year old Swedish tourist was 'molested' by three men at the nearby Fort Kochi beach during the New year celebrations.
A 23 year old Swedish tourist was 'molested' by three men at the nearby Fort Kochi beach on Wednesday night during the New year celebrations, police said.
The three have been arrested and molestation case charged against them, Fort Kochi police told PTI.
The woman was with her boyfriend and brother when the incident occurred, police said.
On the basis of their complaint, plainclothes men picked up Shibu (32), Shihabuddin (26) and Sujith (23).
Last year also, a young tourist, who was with her parents, was molested on the beach.
According to the complaint, the incident took place soon after the burning of a huge effigy of Santa Claus at the beach, as part of the celebrations. There was a deafening sound of a cracker going off and in the commotion, the incident took place, police said.
About 400 policemen in uniform and at least 40 of them in plainclothes were keeping vigil at the beach.
