Tabla recital to be held on July 31

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), ministry of external affairs, will organise the first ever tabla recital in KL Sehgal Hall at Abhinav Theatre here on July 31 under its horizon series programme. In a press conference at ICCR headquarters here, regional director of ICCR, Balwant Thakur, said tabla maestros KL Verma and Rajinder Raina would feature in the focussed tabla recital concert.

Both Raina and Verma have contributed immensely to the world of tabla in Jammu. While Verma retired as the head of department of music and fine arts, University of Jammu, Raina has had distinction of teaching Tabla at ICCR centres abroad, particularly in George Town, Guyana, for more than three years.
