Tamil Nadu: Man kills minor daughters after quarrel with wife
A man in Tamil Nadu on Sunday allegedly strangled his two daughters, aged five and two, and dumped the bodies in a coffee estate after wrapping them in a bag, the police said.
The incident took place in Allurvayal, about 60 km from Udhagamandalam. Rajan, 35, apparently committed the crime to vent his anger against his wife.
The wife had left for her mother's house with the two daughters after a quarrel over the drinking habit of her husband, the police said.
Irked over this, Rajan went to his mother-in-law's house and strangulated his daughters, the police added.
He packed the bodies in a bag and wanted to dump it in the forest, they said.
However, as some passersby asked about the contents of the bag, he abandoned it and fled, the police said.
The locals, who opened the bag, saw the bodies and informed police, who seized them and sent them for post-mortem. A manhunt is underway to catch hold of Rajan, who is reportedly hiding in the forests, the police said.
