A section of employees of the Travancore Devaswom Board on Friday burned an effigy of Kannada actress Jaimala, alleging that she had defiled the Sabarimala temple by claiming to have entered the sanctum sanctorum in 1987 at the age of 27.

Women in the 10-50 age group are barred from entering the temple, which is managed by the TDB.
The employees staged a demonstration in the compound of the TDB headquarters, when the board was meeting to discuss the Jaimala controversy.
The protest was organised by the Trvancore Devaswom Employees' Front.
