"Telugu Desam leaders went there despite an advice by Chief Minister K Rosaiah against doing so. The Maharashtra government will have to act according to the law. Chandrababu Naidu was only politicising the issue," state Home Minister P Sabita Reddy told reporters at Karimnagar.

Higher Education Minister D Sridhar Babu said the Telugu Desam should join the all-party delegation, which is likely to meet the Prime Minister on July 23.

Congress MLC and AICC Secretary P Sudhakar Reddy also alleged that the Telugu Desam has its eyes on the bypolls.

Senior Congress MLA and former minister K Jana Reddy too alleged that TDP has taken up the visit to Maharashtra for political mileage but condemned the arrest of Naidu and other leaders.
