People's War Group (CPI-ML) Naxalites blew up a derelict house of a TDP leader with landmines at Pedasenegalla village, a Naxal stronghold, in the district on Tuesday night.

About 15 Naxals planted landmines at the house of J Purnaiah, a fertiliser dealer, and detonated them leading to collapse of the structure and extensive damage to adjoining buildings.

No casualty was reported in the blast as the house was unoccupied with Purnaiah, who is on the hit-list of the extremists, vacating it and migrating from the village six months ago, police said.

Naxals allege Purnaiah has been using coercion in collection of dues from poor farmers to whom he sold fertilisers.
