Presiding over the meeting, district president Rishi Dev Tripathi demanded new posts for teachers, equal pay scale, parity in service rules and uniform curriculum in the country. He also said that a large number of ad hoc teachers should be regularised immediately. BN Tripathi said if the demands were not accepted by the State government, then the teachers would stage dharna and demonstration across the State.

Tripathi expressed strong resentment against prevailing corruption at the office of the district inspector of schools here.

The members present in the meeting also paid rich tributes to Mandhata Singh who passed away on September 23. Prominent teachers who addressed the meeting were Sant Lal Singh, Amar Singh Yadav, TP Mishra, Dr KM Lal, Ayodhya Prasad Mishra, Suresh Chandra Tripathi and Surendra Singh.
