"The email was received by the channel on May 25 after which officials of the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) began tracing its origins," they said.

"The sender of the email was traced to Vijay Nagar in Bangalore. After investigation, the sender was found to be a 15-year-old son of a local trader. The boy was brought to Mumbai on Thursday and booked for criminal intimidation a day later," police said.

The youth was subsequently sent to a juvenile observation home in Dongri and was later granted bail on Saturday, they added.
