Sources said when the BJP leader’s daughter informed her parents and brothers and brothers about the incident, they came out and queried about the miscreants who were reportedly living at the adjacent locality.

Sources said the sons of the BJP leader and their friends went to the house of the miscreants and thrashed them. When some people of that area came in support of the battered youths, the two sides pelted each other with stones.

Suddenly, Malti Sharma’s husband fired in the air with his licensed revolver.

The police rushed to the spot and arrested several persons.

Soon in support of the BJP leader, several women leaders of the BLP, including former Mayor Sarla Singh, Premlata Katiyar and BJP MLA from Kalyanpur reached the Barra police station.

Several Samajwadi Party leaders also reached the spot in support of the battered miscreants.

There was a high voltage drama at the police for two hours. The SP leaders demanded an FIR against Malti Sharma and her family members. The BJP leaders and the police were trying to reach an amicable settlement.

Although the police tried to convince both the parties to reach a settlement, they could not broker peace. Then it was Premlata Katiyar who pacified both parties.

When Station Officer Barra was asked about the incident, he said nothing had happened in the area.
