Pop singer Madonna announced the dates of her new "Confession's Tour" on Monday - and promised to turn the world into one big dance floor.
The world tour begins in Los Angeles on May 21 and will include performances across North America, Japan, Britain and continental Europe.
"I'm going to turn the world into one big dance floor," Madonna, 47, said on her Web site.
The world tour will be the star's first since the "Re-Invention Tour" in 2004 which was the most successful tour of any artist in that year, according to Billboard.
Madonna, who has enjoyed 12 number one singles in the UK, has already begun rehearsals in the United States with her troupe of musicians and dancers.
Jean Paul Gaultier will design costumes for the tour, which will be directed by long-time Madonna collaborator Jamie King and feature Stuart Price as musical director.
In Britain the tour includes two shows at London's Wembley Arena in August and one in Cardiff.
Other European tour dates include Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Duesseldorf, Hanover and Horsens in Denmark.
In North America Madonna will perform in San Jose, Fresno, Phoenix, Chicago, Montreal, Hartford, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami and Los Angeles.
Tickets for the UK performances, which range from£80 to £160 pound, go on sale on Friday for the Wembley Arena performances on August 1 and 3, and a fortnight later for Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, where the singer plays on July 30.
Madonna's most recent album, Confessions On A Dance Floor, has been greeted with critical acclaim. Her latest single Sorry debuted at No 1 in the UK Top 10 singles charts in February.
