There was a political strategy behind Rahul’s Mumbai visit

Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Mumbai should be viewed in the context of the concern expressed by Sagarika Ghose in the article A family enterprise (Bloody Mary, February 10). It seems the media are playing into the hands of the Congress by highlighting the visit, knowing very well that it was part of a planned strategy by India’s first family for grooming the heir apparent to take over what’s almost a family business. The ensuing drama made for some interesting moments, though. What’s clear now is that Mumbai may be for all Indians but India belongs to one family.
