Third person arrested in Udhampur attack case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested Showkat Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, in connection with its probe into the Udhampur attack.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested Showkat Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, in connection with its probe into the Udhampur attack.

Two Pakistani terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attacked a BSF convoy on August 5 killing two paramilitary men. During the attack, one Pakistani terrorist Noman was killed and his associate Mohammed Naveedwas captured alive.

According to a NIA statement, Showkat, 36, has been accused of transporting a group of four LeT terrorists, including Mohammed Naveed, from near Baba Reshi in Baramulla, soon after they infiltrated into India from across the Line of Control.
