Thousands of children administered polio drops

THOUSANDS OF children under five years of age were administered pulse polio drops today as a part of the Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive in Bhind, Morena and Gwalior districts of Madhya Pradesh, Health Director Yogiraj Sharma said.

THOUSANDS OF children under five years of age were administered pulse polio drops today as a part of the Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive in Bhind, Morena and Gwalior districts of Madhya Pradesh, Health Director Yogiraj Sharma said.

According to the Health Department, no fresh polio case has been reported during the last three years.

However, children in the districts along the border regions of Uttar Pradesh had been administered pulse polio drops as a precautionary measure. Official sources said that as many as 5,631 polio booths, including 246 transit booths and 81 mobile teams had been set up in the three districts while 14,483 personnel have been employed for the purpose.

The drive will continue for three days. Pulse polio teams will reach every home to administer pulse polio drops, sources added.
