The incident occurred near Plaswa village on the national highway 15 in Rapar taluka, when a utility truck moving on the wrong side of the road collided with a car coming from the opposite direction, they said.
The car was coming from Radhanpur and going towards Samakhiyali, police added.
According to police, three persons inside the car died on the spot, while the injured have been sent to Radhanpur government hospital for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Pushpa Shah (85), Saroj Shah (60) and Sanjay Shah (40), they said.
A case has been registered against the driver of the utility truck who fled from the scene of accident, while further investigation in the matter is on, police said.
