Three militants surrender in Assam

Three militants, two of them belonging to ULFA, on Thursday surrendered before the civil authorities in Assam’s Golaghat district, official sources said.

Three militants, two of them belonging to ULFA, on Thursday surrendered before the civil authorities in Assam’s Golaghat district, official sources said.

While surrendering before Golaghat Deputy Commissioner H N Bora, the militants also deposited two pistols, one revolver and magazines with four rounds of live ammunitions.

The militants are self-styled ‘Sergeant Major´ Binod Gohain and ‘Corporal´ Manoj Saikia of the ULFA and ‘Lance Corporal´ Tara Tamang of the Adivasi National Liberation Army (ANLA), sources added.
