A city court on Wednesday granted bail to the two car accessories shop owners, who were arrested for helping the main accused in the toll plaza murder case.
The duo, who run their shops on Old Delhi Road, were arrested on Tuesday for destroying evidences and assisting main accused Vijay Veer by fitting some accessories into his Mahindra Bolero after he shot dead toll attendant Umeshkant Pandey at Kherki Daula toll plaza on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on Thursday night to evade toll fee for the vehicle.
On Wednesday, police produced the duo in the court, which granted bail to them.
According to police, the accessories shop owners were aware of the crime committed by Vijay Veer and had they informed police on time, the accused could have been arrested earlier.
The police had arrested Vijay Veer and his accomplice Manjeet Singh on Monday on the basis of CCTV footage provided by DGSCL, the company that is responsible to manage the busy Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
Meanwhile, Vijay Veer's mother Vinodi Devi, along with her relatives and villagers, met Gurgaon police commissioner SS Deswal and pleaded innocence for her son.
She also alleged that the police detained her other son Hitesh for no fault of him.
She alleged that the police detained Hitesh even before the arrest of Vijay Veer.
