A top Indian official on Monday held talks with Nepalese leaders in Kathmadnu on the current political situation and the ongoing peace process in the Himalayan Kingdom.

Pankaj Saran, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, called on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at his residence at Baluwat.

He also held talks with Home Minister Krishna Sitoula and Nepali Congress (Democratic) President and Sher Bahadur Deuba, party sources said.

The current political situation in Nepal, the ongoing peace process and the process of democratization came up for discussion during the talks, the sources said.
