Traffic on the busy highway was immediately suspended due to which thousands of vehicles carrying passengers and essentials remained stranded.
A traffic official said,"An LPG tanker overturned near the Jawahar tunnel Wednesday night at 11 pm and gas started leaking from it. Following this, authorities decided to suspend traffic."
Adding the driver of the tanker was safe and sustained no injuries, he said, "The tanker was lifted from the road in the wee hours of the morning and traffic resumed again."
