Police booked six women for stripping and parading the victim naked in Dedgaon village on September 30 and arrested four of them but "she was sent to jail on fake charges", state Samajwadi Jan Parishad general secretary Shamim Modi said at a press conference in Bhopal on Friday.

Apart from her, the only witness to the incident who came forward to testify was booked for disturbing peace and kept behind bars for five days, he alleged.

He accused the police of working under political pressure and trying to force the victim to withdraw her case and demanded a CID probe into the incident.
