Trinamool Congress on Friday attempted to raise the Nandigram violence in the Rajya Sabha on its first anniversary and staged a walkout on being prevented.

Soon after the House met for the day, Dinesh Trivedi sought to raise the issue of controversial acquisition of land for SEZ in Nandigram in West Bengal which had led to widespread violence.

The Chairman Hamid Ansari stopped him from raising the issue. "This is an uncalled for disruption. Mr Trivedi please resume your place. Please do not interrupt (Question Hour)," he said.
