Two cops rape 17-year-old, suspended
A SHAMEFUL incident of rape with a 17-year-old girl by two police constables has come to light in Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi) district. The Superintendent of Police (SP) suspended both constables on the complaint of the victim on Wednesday evening. One of the suspended constable and a chowkidar of the police station for helping the accused, have been arrested. Teams of police personnel have been formed to trace out and arrest another absconding constable cum accused.

The victim was brought to the district hospital by lady cops on Thursday for medical examinations. The victim told Hindustan Times about the incident of rape by cops with her.
According to information, 17-year-old Shikha (imaginary name), a resident of Reula village under the Saraimeer police station of Azamgarh district, had run away from home after quarrel with her mother on March 16.
She had boarded a train from Azamgarh to reach Shahganj in Jaunpur to her grand parents.
But, she could not reach her grand parents and remained at the railway station for five days there. Later, she came to Varanasi and remained at the platform here for five more days.
She went to Jaunpur and from there to Allahabad for generating some employment opportunities.
The girl boarded a passenger train from Allahabad to Varanasi on March 29 evening and got in touch with three unidentified youths, who alighted at the Jungiganj station under Koirauna police station in Bhadohi, took her to a lonely place, raped her and fled.
The victim confided in a man living in the area, Niyaz Ahmad, who brought the matter to the notice of a police constable, Shamsuddin of Koirauna police station.
Soon, the constable along with his colleague, Dhanni Lal Bharti, took the girl away from Niyaz.
The two cops instead of taking her to the police station took her to the old building of Koirauna police station, which is not in use, and raped her.
Later, they handed over the victim to the watchman of the police station, Kamla Shanker, who took her to his room and raped her. On Wednesday, both cops asked the watchman to take the girl to the railway station and make her board a train.
On getting information of some foul play by locals, the SP, Mahavir Prasad sent a team of police personnel, who nabbed Shamsuddin and a watchman along with a girl from the station. Dhanni Lal had fled from the station.
