A shocking incident of female infanticide has come to light in Delhi's premier medical institute with the discovery of the body of a two-day-old baby with strangulation marks.

The gruesome murder which took place in the maternity ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) came to light the next day.
The forensic experts' report confirmed strangulation to be the cause of the infant's death.
Police suspect that someone from the family has killed the baby.
The baby was born to Pummy (25) who had come to Delhi from Bihar with her husband, mother and mother-in-law for treatment of some heart disease. She already has two sons and her new born child was a daughter.
On the advice of the doctor, Pummy was admitted to the hospital on January 30 where she gave birth to a baby girl on February 1. The baby was found dead later.
The police have registered a case of murder and will be interrogating the mother.
