“We have ordered evacuation of some residential towers near the site,” said Balraj Singh, deputy commissioner, Faridabad. Technical teams will visit the site on Friday to check the stability of existing residential towers.

On Thursday, several residents of SRS Residency led a delegation to town and country planning office and questioned officials for allowing construction of a school building and putting them in dark.

“We came to know that the district administration had asked the builder to shift residents of two towers to safer places,” said Pramod Manocha, spokesman of SRS Residency Residents Welfare Association.

Meanwhile, the magisterial enquiry ordered into the school building collapse has started.
