Two killed, 14 injured in a road accident

At least two people, including a two-year old child, have been killed and 14 others were injured, when a jeep in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Dondal village in Pauri district.

At least two people, including a two-year old child, were killed and 14 others were injured, when a jeep in which they were travelling fell into a gorge at Dondal village in Pauri district on Monday, police said.

The mishap occurred, when the driver of the jeep, carrying 16 local people, lost control over the vehicle while taking a sharp turn.

The jeep skidded off the road and fell into around 30-meter deep gorge, said the police adding, two people, including a two-year-old child, died on the spot.

The injured, including three children, have been admitted to a near by hospital.

The four of the injured, whose condition was said to be critical, have been referred to Base Hospital in Srinagar Garhwal, added the police.
