At least two Naxals were suspected to have been killed in an encounter with the police at a village in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, about 300 km from Nagpur, on Sunday evening, police said.

The police, who found a pool of blood from the encounter site at Purnur village, could not recover the bodies from the spot, they said adding other Naxalites might have carried away the bodies of their comrades from the site.
Police later recovered about 50 to 60 live cartridges of SLR, two rifles, one live hand grenade and some literature from the encounter site, police added.
