Ghaziabad police have arrested two students, one engineering and another pursuing MBA, from Chiranjeev Vihar for robbing businessman Anil Kumar Bansal of His Hyundai i10 car.
Police said four youngsters were partying at RDC District Centre in Ghaziabad on the night of December 25. They were reportedly drunk.
“They were leaving the place in their i10 car but couldn't control it because of being in a drunken state. They hit their car into Bansal’s car in the middle of the road,” said Kavinagar Station Officer A.K. Shishodia.
“When the argument between the two parties grew, these four men thrashed Bansal and fled with his new i-10 car in order to teach him a lesson.”
Bansal then approached the police and a manhunt was launched to nab the alleged four robbers.
On Monday the police arrested two of them from their house. The two others are absconding, police said. The arrested students have been identified as Krishna Singh (20), an engineering student, and MBA student Deepak Singh (21).
They accomplices Vijay Kumar (21) and Nitin Kumar (21), another MBA student, managed to give police the slip.
The arrested students have been charged for robbery, the police said.
Bansal’s robbed car was recovered from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee park at Kavinagar Industrial Area on Monday, Station Officer said.
Both the arrested students were sent to jail on Monday.
