Two students dead, seven injured in road accident

Two Class 11 students died while seven others, including a teacher, were injured on Monday when a mini cab hit a tree and fell into a deep pit on Pataudi-Rewari Road.

Two Class 11 students died while seven others, including a teacher, were injured on Monday when a mini cab hit a tree and fell into a deep pit on Pataudi-Rewari Road.

All the students belonged to the neighbouring district Rewari and were returning home after attending extra classes in Pathfinder Global School.

Nisha Rani died on the way to a Gurgaon hospital, while Hemant Kumar succumbed to grievous injuries after being admitted.

The incident took place around 4.30pm when nine students and a teacher boarded a maxi Cab. After covering a short distance, the driver lost his balance and hit a tree. The vehicle toppled over before slipping into a deep pit.

According to investigating officer Lakhpat Singh, passersby and local villagers informed the police and helped in the rescue operations.

Seven passengers received minor injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals. School teacher Arun Sharma, who was also injured was taken to Rewari for treatment.

According to the police, there was no clue about the cab driver.
