Two TSR jawans injured in encounter

Two jawans of Tripura State Rifles were injured, one of them seriously, in an encounter with the insurgents of banned ATTF.

Two jawans of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) were injured, one of them seriously, in an encounter with the insurgents of banned All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) at Murabholua para in West Tripura district, police said in Agartala on Thursday.

The jawans were carrying out a special operation at Murabholuapara under Sidhai police station when they were fired upon by the ATTF ultras who were hiding in a bush, police said.

The security forces also retaliated, but the ultras managed to flee injuring two jawans, police said adding the injured were admitted to Agartala Government Medical College.

Earlier on February 12 last, insurgents of the same group seriously injured two jawans of Assam Rifles at Madancherra under Sidhai police station of same district by throwing grenades.
