Ultras attack Congress HQ in Srinagar; no injuries

A powerful blast rocked party headquarters in central Srinagar minutes before another blast next door.

A powerful explosion rocked headquarters of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday at Maulana Azad road in Srinagar, official sources said.

The blast, believed to have been caused by a grenade attack carried out by terrorists, took place around 1.00 pm, they said, adding no one was injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, soon after the attack, another explosion, followed by heavy exchange of fire between some terrorists and the security force personnel, was reported from adjacent Regal Chowk, the sources said.

The casualties, if any, were not known, they said.
