Bharti will announce the new party in Ujjain on Sunday. The symbol, rising sun with lime yellow colour would have eight small and big rays. The flag will be dedicated after performing pujan at Mahakaleshwar Temple and the new party would be announced at a public meeting at Tower Chowk the same evening.
After the passage of L K Advani’s Bharat Suraksha Yatra, all eyes are now trained on this new political beginning, which watchers of the political scenario say would harm the BJP’s fortunes.
One measure of Uma’s strength would be the number of dissidents from the BJP attending the launching ceremony. Besides Madanlal Khurana and Chinmayanand, others like Tapan Sikdar, Amrut Tarawala, Sanghpriya Gautam, Venu Gopal (Karnataka) and Jeevan Sharma (Uttaranchal) are likely to share the dias with the Sadhvi in Ujjain.
Former State minister Gauri Shankar Shejwar and four other MLAs who had openly supported Uma during the recent political drama in the State would also reportedly join the new party.
Sources in the BJP have hinted that partymen who have been feeling neglected for quite some time are considering joining forces with Uma. Some activists have also talked to Prahlad Patel during his recent Ujjain visit. Several posters and hoardings of ‘Praktosav’ - the name of the programme - have been put up, but pictures of none of the leaders except Uma have been highlighted. Uma loyalists have claimed that 25,000 supporters would attend the launch.
