An unidentified militant has been killed in a gunfight with police commandos in Imphal East district of Manipur, police sources said on Monday.

Sources said commandos, attached to Imphal East district police station, were frisking passers-by to intercept insurgents when two militants on a two-wheeler were coming towards them at Haotal on Sunday.
When asked to stop, the militants opened fire, sources said, adding that in the ensuing encounter, one militant was killed while the other escaped.
One 9 mm pistol along with ammunition were found at the spot, sources said.
The body was been sent to Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital in Imphal for post mortem.
Over 112 persons were so far killed in militancy-related crimes in Manipur this year.
