This the first meeting of the party since its disastrous performance in the Lok Sabha polls, where it managed to win just five of the state's 80 Lok Sabha seats. This is also the first time Mulayam has summoned such a meeting at his home. Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, who also is the state president of the party, would be present at the meeting.

The entire cabinet, ministers of state as well as those of minister-rank have been asked to assemble at 9 am on Sunday. "The meeting is crucial and the way it has been summoned indicates that there is going to be a major shakeup," said a source.
